We’re very pleased to present the 2007 FCSS Story Book. This year’s Story Book reflects the many innovative ways Family and Community Support Service staff and volunteers have found to address the social issues that impact communities. Each vignette portrays a unique situation, yet common themes are illustrated – from tackling homelessness and poverty to forging meaningful partnerships and building safe neighbourhoods.
The experiences described on these pages offer you the opportunity to gain new ideas and insights that can only enhance your ability to continue seeking meaningful solutions for your communities.
We hope our 2007 Story Book will not only inspire, but also illustrate concrete ways in which change can be made. It’s clear from the stories we received that it’s true – one person really can make a difference, and a determined group of people really can change a community!
