Jasmine Lauzon,
Community Development Coordinator,
Autism Society of the RMWB

My name is Jasmine Lauzon, and I am the Community Development Coordinator with the Autism Society of the RMWB.

Before stepping into this role, I worked as an Educational Assistant supporting neurodiverse students. I’ve also built a foundation in Social Work through my studies and hands-on experience. Both paths have shaped me in a very personal way, they taught me the importance of seeing the individuals and their strengths, not just the paperwork or the diagnosis. Those experiences are what guide me every single day in the work I do now.

A big part of my work is staying connected with the people and organizations who support our families. I enjoy working alongside parents, schools, and health-care professionals, including pediatricians and their teams, to help identify supports, share our “Newly diagnosed” handbook and bridge gaps within our vibrant community. I co-teach “Autism and Neurodiversity Awareness Training” once a month to members of the community. I also help organize sensory-friendly events throughout the year, creating inclusive spaces where families feel included, and supported.

It truly warms my heart to share what I’ve learned and to connect families with the professionals that can support. When my own child needed early intervention, I remember how much guidance I needed to navigate the process to make sure they received the right supports. That experience showed me just how powerful it is to have guidance, especially from someone who understands the individual challenges that come with being a caregiver/parent of a child with neurodiversity.

I am truly grateful to work for the Autism Society of the RMWB and to be part of the support we offer to families every day.
