Advocates Who Listen
Guiding the FCSSAA on its mission to support its member programs, the role of the Family and Community Support Services Association of Alberta’s Board is:
- To listen to its members’ challenges, needs, and aspirations
- To identify common concerns and issues related to FCSS programming
- To clearly and effectively communicate these issues to other member programs and to the provincial government, along with proposed solutions
- To support communities by developing tools to decisively fulfil local needs and mandates
The FCSSAA has created the following document explaining our bylaws, ensuring that the value of FCSS resources, and the FCSS “way of working” is well understood by all levels of government:

Board Composition
The FCSSAA Board is made up of:
- the President who is elected at the FCSSAA AGM by the voting delegates
- up to four people elected or appointed by the Directors’ Network Committee
- those representatives elected from or appointed by the Regions as follows:
- One from each of the Northwest, Northeast, West Central, East Central, South and Yellowhead regions
- One from the Edmonton area of the Edmonton Evergreen region
- One from the Evergreen area of the Edmonton Evergreen region
- One from the Calgary area of the Calgary-Bow River region
- One from the Bow River area of the Calgary-Bow River region
